We were fortunate to host the archivists from Portman Archives–Paige Adair, Rebecca Brown, and Katie Twomey–for a tour of our exhibition-under-construction. What a dream team! They have been so generous in their guidance and assistance throughout our development of the Building on Dana project. What an honor to have them, all at once, in the building.
We were so happy to welcome them to Dana, as return visitors and first-timers (thanks, Paige, for coming back!). Somehow we forgot to take a group photograph, but their images, which they have shared, clearly convey their deep understanding of John Portman’s architecture. They are sensitive responses to our building, capturing its moments of visual permeability and integrations of shapes and spaces.
Please visit us in a few weeks to see how their individual perspectives and invaluable research on our behalf have already enriched this study for us and will enhance the story for our audience, especially on the timeline of Portman’s projects from the late 1950s to the early 1970s, of which Dana is an important part.
